THDC India Limited (THDCIL) is proud to announce the successful completion of the Athlete Induction Program and Pooja Ceremony at the THDCIL-IKCA (THACK) High-Performance Academy for Canoeing & Kayaking, held in Koteshwar, Tehri, Uttarakhand. This prestigious event was graced by the presence of several distinguished guests, including Mr. Amit Kumar Sinha, ADG, Secretary of the Sports Department, Uttarakhand, Mr. L.P. Joshi, Executive Director of THDCIL, Tehri, Uttarakhand, Dr. D.K. Singh, Secretary General of the Uttarakhand Olympic Association, Dr. A.N. Tripathi, G.M., THDC- Tehri Complex, Mr. Navneet Singh, SSP of Tehri, and top athletes from across the country who have represented India and won medals on international and national podiums.
The highlight of the ceremony was the induction of top athletes into the academy, marking a significant milestone in their careers. These athletes, who have showcased exceptional talent and dedication, will now receive world-class training and support at the academy.
We are also pleased to welcome Mr. Arambam Ching Ching Singh, the Chief Coach from the Indian Navy, who has joined as the National Coach for the Academy. His vast experience and expertise are expected to significantly contribute to the development and success of our athletes.
The event commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr. A.N. Tripathi, followed by an inspiring speech from Mr. L.P. Joshi, emphasizing the importance of dedication, hard work, and perseverance in achieving success. Mr. A.K. Sinha, our esteemed Chief Guest, then delivered words of encouragement, motivating the athletes to strive for excellence and make the most of the opportunities provided by the academy. Dr. D.K. Singh expressed his sincere thanks to CMD, THDCIL, and the entire team for fulfilling the great vision of giving this international academy to India and especially to the state of Uttarakhand.
President- IKCA Mr. Prashant Kushwaha, lauded the extra-ordinary efforts by the THDCIL for fulfilling the grand vision of creating a world class academy for Canoeing and Kayaking for nurturing Indian talent.
Athletes shared their experiences and expressed their gratitude for being part of this premier training facility, acknowledging it as the best place for their training and development.
The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Sumant S. Kulshreshtha, Director of THACK, Koteshwar, Tehri, Uttarakhand. Dr. Kulshreshtha expressed his appreciation to all the dignitaries, athletes, and participants for their presence and support in making this event a grand success.
